Seychelles
Indian Ocean island republic—named on the ARIA map and remembered by crews as a favorite stopover.

The Seychelles are a granitic and coral archipelago northeast of Madagascar in the western Indian Ocean. Their international airport on Mahé made the islands reachable for long-range jet aircraft ferrying between Africa and Asia or staging for Indian Ocean tracks.
ARIA deployment lists include Seychelles among Indian Ocean sites. A 1990s Air Force feature preserved on flyARIA quotes a crewmember naming Seychelles (with Melbourne and Tahiti) among favorite stopovers—the liberty side of a job that also meant Ascension’s wind and Wake’s solitude.
Geographically the islands help cover western Indian Ocean areas far from Diego Garcia or the African mainland. The page records that role without inventing sortie logs.
